Veteran's Day 2016

We Honor our Veterans

We Honor Our Veterans

If you’ve turned on a TV or radio, cracked a newspaper, been online or had a conversation with nearly anyone during the course of the past year, you’re already aware that we’ve just witnessed one of the most contentious general elections in modern history. As of this past week, the process has completed and the time has come to remember that as citizens of this great country, we are all in this together. Today on Veteran’s Day, it’s important to reflect upon what that really means.

Most of us have either served ourselves or have loved ones who fought in wars to defend the freedoms and way of life that the Constitution guarantees. We may not always agree with one another as to what the best course of action to take for the country is but most of the time, it’s fair to say that we all have its best interest and that of our fellow humans at heart. The surest way that we can honor the sacrifices made by so many in defending our freedom is to come together now to realize the vision of our founding fathers. It hasn’t changed and regardless of who sits in the Oval Office, the goodness and greatness of the American people will carry us forward.

One of our key learnings as a company who helps people manage their wealth and plan for retirement is that those who are grateful tend to prosper. It has been our observation that those who understand how the sacrifices of others in this country have created an environment and society where we can not only accumulate wealth, but have the ability to put the people and things we love in the forefront of our existence tend to have the most true wealth, which can be directly translated into the concept of joy. We are forever grateful to live in this country and for the courage and sacrifice of those who have protected and served it.

Call a vet and say “thanks!” Any day you see them while you’re out and about, let them know how much you appreciate them and what they’ve done. They’re easy to find today. They’re out attending parades, eating the meals graciously offered to them by many wonderful establishments, spending time with their loved ones and generally enjoying life in our society. We at Goldbloom Wealth Management love and honor them. We wouldn’t be here without them!
